2-YEAR-OLD DROWNING FATALITY
The drowning death of a two-year-old male child who died at a home on Marker Drive in Upper Fairfield Township about 4:15 p.m. on Aug. 9, has been confirmed, according to state police. “Immediate life-saving attempts were initiated on the individual. The 2-year-old has since been pronounced deceased,” Trooper Matthew Miller, the lead investigator, said in the release. “This is an ongoing, thorough investigation involving multiple agencies. No more information will be released,” Miller said in the news release. Apparently, the child was taken to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, in Montour County because the death investigation was being handled by Montour County Coroner Scott Lynn.

TERRORISTIC THREATS AGAINS CHILDREN & YOUTH CASEWORKER
A child-custody dispute has resulted in criminal charges being filed against Lashanda Bullock after the 37-year-old mother threatened to burn down the home of a Lycoming County Children and Youth Services (C&Y) caseworker, city police alleged in an affidavit. Bullock, of 879 Park Ave., has been charged with terroristic threats and harassment stemming from an incident on June 3 when police were called to her home to investigate a report of threats being made to a caseworker, the court document stated.. Bullock has been sent a summons to appear before District Judge Christian Frey.
DRUG CHARGES ON WILLIAMSPORT MOTHER
Another mother in trouble with the law was Stephanie Marie Bruner, 35, of 626 Second St., who was discovered “passed out on the couch” inside her home when her juvenile daughter tried to enter the house on May 20 after being under the care of a neighbor for a few hours, city police said. Charged with endangering the welfare of a child, possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia, Bruner also has been sent a summons to appear before the judge.
SHOTS FIRED IN WILLIAMSPORT SUNDAY
Williamsport police officers responded to the 2600 block of Grand Street before 1 p.m., Sunday when over a half a dozen shots were fired. No one was injured and no arrests have been made, police said. It was unknown if any homes were hit by the gunfire, a Williamsport Bureau of Police spokesman said Monday. The shooting remains under investigation. No other details were released.
FREE EASTER MEAL IN WILLIAMSPORT

THEFT AND USE OF CREDIT CARD WITHOUT PERMISSION
A 32-year-old Churchton, MD man is facing several felony charges after an investigation showed he allegedly took credit cards from a woman after she went to the hospital following an afternoon of drinking with Andrew Joseph Ganhao was charged with multiple third-degree felonies. A request for statements allegedly showed Ganhao had attempted to make $3,452.45 worth of purchases on the accuser’s card. Authorities said search warrants for Google, Hulu, and Cashapp showed some of the fraudulent purchases made with the card. According to the complaint, Ganhao attempted to send money to a family member through PayPal with the accuser’s account.No bail was listed for Ganhao.
VOLUNTARY COVID-19 TESTING K-12 SCHOOLS
Pennsylvania will offer voluntary COVID-19 testing in K-12 schools, state health and education officials announced yest, promoting the effort as a way to keep the doors open for in-person learning amid a statewide resurgence of the coronavirus. School districts will have to opt in, and parents must give consent to the weekly classroom testing. The students’ nasal swabs will be pooled and evaluated together to detect the presence of COVID-19 in a school building. The state unveiled the testing program amid sharply rising infections and hospitalizations. Pennsylvania is averaging nearly 2,100 confirmed cases every day.
